DAY 23-27

So I've started missing a few days, just as I'm not actually doing much apart from school, so it will bulk out the posts a bit more and give more of a summary of what I'm actually doing.

My highlight of the past few days has definitely been the photoshoot I did. I haven't really done low light shoots before, but really like the aesthetic of them. So I decided to jump in the RX8, get a purple light and attempt to take some photos. They actually turned out really cool, almost excatly what I had in mind.

I will be updating my portfolio at some point, and I'll chuck the rest of the edited ones from this shoot up there as well.

I also went on a little bit of a music search, and found Gorillaz. I had a scroll through their albums and got hooked instantly. The virtual band concept seemed really cool to me so I decided to try and draw my own character somewhat in their style. My youth group had the online chat on wednesday as normal, as well as a zoom meeting afterwards, which was nice talking to everyone.

I had a rewatch of Elysium, an extremely good movie that I will always recommend. It's a little heavy on the language at times and a few limbs go flying, but the message behind it is so good.

On friday, my youth group held a kahoot, with mostly general questons, which was super fun. It was really funny hearing everyone get super competitive, even though we were all still in our own homes.

That night we watched another movie, called Passengers. It's about this guy who gets woken too early on a transit to another planet. It's easy to follow and a cool half scifi half romance kind of movie.

Funnily enough, while we were just scrolling through things to watch, we also came across a TV show that was the adaptation of a book called Noughts and Crosses. I read this book in Year 11 for our study, and it's pretty much a romeo and juliet twist. It's based in a society where white people are the lower class, as opposed to black people. It pretty much addresses racism in pretty much every way, but because we're only two episodes in I can't give you too much backstory.

Yesterday I went into town to stay with my Nana overnight, she's a part of our 'bubble.' It was really cool, she pulled out all of her old albums and showed me heaps of photos from when my Dad and my aunties were little. She also had a few travelling ones, including one of Alaska and Canada, which was super cool to see and made me want to visit those places even more.

We caught the tail end of 'Fugitive' starring Harrison Ford in the evening, but it didn't make too much sense to me as we had missed the beginning.

It was real nice to drive again, and get out of the house for the first time in almost a month, and I made sure to take my time getting there and back.

When I got home, Dad had taken the Mini out into the paddock to teach my brother how to drive manual, and so I had a little spin in it. I was actually surprised how much riding the motorbike and the concept of gears on that helped, and I felt a heap more confident than I did half a year ago.
